Terms & Community Rules

Effective July 17, 2026 · Version terms-2026-07-17
These terms explain the Craving service, your responsibilities, subscription rules, restaurant and dietary limitations, and the conduct required in private Squad features.

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms and Community Rules are an agreement between you and Cortex Advisory Inc. ("Craving," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating or using a Craving account, including an anonymous Supabase Auth guest account, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 13 and legally able to enter this agreement. If your jurisdiction requires parental authorization or a higher digital-consent age, you may use Craving only with valid authorization.

2. The service and your account

Craving provides restaurant discovery, recommendations, saved places, private Squad coordination, route and weather context, and optional subscription features.
Guest accounts may be lost if you delete the app or change devices. Link Apple or Google through Supabase Auth to make an account recoverable and eligible for Squad or paid features.
You are responsible for your device, linked identity, account activity, and the accuracy of information you submit. Do not transfer, sell, or misuse account access.
We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue features to protect users, comply with law, control provider cost, or improve the service.

3. Restaurant, safety, and dietary disclaimer

Craving recommendations are informational and may be incomplete, unavailable, or wrong. Restaurant hours, prices, menus, ratings, photos, routes, weather, allergen practices, dietary suitability, and delivery availability can change without notice and may come from third parties.
Craving is not a medical, nutrition, allergy, religious-certification, emergency, transportation, or food-safety service. Always confirm ingredients, cross-contamination controls, certifications, accessibility, hours, route safety, and price directly with the restaurant or provider. If you face a severe allergy or medical risk, do not rely on the app as your sole safety check.

4. Community rules and user-generated content

Do not submit content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, exploitative, deceptive, invasive of privacy, infringing, spam, or otherwise objectionable.
Do not impersonate others, manipulate votes, evade blocks, abuse invitations or notifications, probe private Squads, or use Craving to facilitate harm.
You keep ownership of content you submit. You grant Craving a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and display it only as needed to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the service.
Users can report content and block actors. We may filter, mask, remove, preserve as evidence, restrict distribution of, or disable access to content or accounts. Serious or repeated violations may result in suspension or a permanent ban, and unlawful activity may be reported to authorities.
Send urgent abuse concerns to abuse@joincraving.us. Reports should not be used to retaliate against lawful users or submit knowingly false allegations.

5. Third-party services and links

Place, map, route, photo, review, weather, ordering, ride, and payment features may be supplied by Google, Apple, OpenWeather, RevenueCat, app stores, restaurants, delivery services, ride providers, or other third parties. Their own terms, privacy policies, availability, and fees apply.
A third-party link does not mean Craving controls or guarantees that service. Some ordering, ride, or reservation links may be clearly disclosed affiliate links or referral links that can compensate Craving without changing your price. A provider button is not itself a promise that Craving receives payment.

6. Craving Plus subscriptions

The price, billing period, trial, and included features shown in the purchase sheet control your order. Taxes may apply.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subject to the rules displayed by Apple App Store or Google Play.
Manage or cancel through the app-store account used to purchase. Deleting Craving does not itself cancel an app-store subscription.
Restore Purchase can restore an eligible entitlement. Refunds are handled under the applicable app-store policy and mandatory consumer law.
Provider-budget, fraud, abuse, and reasonable-use safeguards continue to apply to paid accounts.

7. Acceptable use and intellectual property

Use Craving only for lawful personal use. Do not scrape, resell, reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, bypass quotas or access controls, introduce malware, or use automated systems except where law expressly permits.
Craving software, branding, design, and original content are owned by Cortex Advisory Inc. or its licensors. Third-party names, ratings, photos, maps, reviews, and marks remain owned by their respective providers.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on devices you own or control.

8. Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using Craving or permanently delete your account in Profile or at https://joincraving.us/delete-account. App-store subscription cancellation is a separate step.
We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, fraud, abuse, legal requirements, security risk, or harm to users or providers. Provisions that logically survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, limitations, and dispute terms—remain effective.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Craving is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, restaurant quality, dietary safety, or third-party availability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cortex Advisory Inc. and its personnel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits or data, personal decisions based on inaccurate third-party information, or third-party conduct. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits non-waivable consumer rights.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of California, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local consumer law applies. Before filing a formal claim, contact support@joincraving.us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue.
Any court dispute that is not subject to mandatory local jurisdiction will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in California. This clause does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or using an eligible small-claims process.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. Material changes receive a new version and, when required, renewed acceptance. Continued use after the effective date of a properly presented update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
